WCL Top Rankings
Browse top-ranked cooldown usage from Warcraft Logs and import patterns into your plan
Where to Find It
Click the WCL icon in the left sidebar and select Top Rankings.
Purpose
WCL Top Rankings shows you what the top 50 players of each spec are casting on every boss. Use it as a reference when building your own cooldown plan, or export the data directly into your CD Planner.
See also: WCL Compare for analyzing your own logs after raiding.
How the Data Works
For each boss and difficulty, WCL Top pulls the top 50 logs per spec from Warcraft Logs. You choose which metric to rank by:
- DPS - damage per second
- HPS - healing per second
- Boss DPS - damage dealt to the boss only
The spells from those logs are aggregated and displayed on a timeline, showing when and how often each cooldown is used across those top parses.
Top logs are not progress kills
Top-ranked logs in deep farm may differ in cd priorities and phase timers. The cooldown patterns may not translate directly to a progression environment. Consider whether they fit your raid's situation before importing them.
Controls and Filters
The control bar at the top gives you everything you need to filter and navigate the data:
- Top/Heatmap, Spec, Metric, Phases, Zoom - control what data you see and how it is displayed
- Spell Filters - toggle visibility of specific spells or spell categories
Export to CD Planner
Hover over a player to see export options. Select Copy CDs or Copy Export to grab their spells, then import them into a linked Cooldown Planner page. This pre-fills the timeline with top-ranked timings as a starting point for your own assignments.
Export to NSRT
Export spells directly to Northern Sky Raid Tools format. Copy the output and paste it into the addon in-game without going through the CD Planner.
Useful for quickly pulling in a single boss's cooldown pattern.
Heatmap
The Heatmap view overlays spell usage density on the timeline. Instead of individual spell rows, you see color-coded bands showing when cooldowns are used most frequently across the top logs.
- Tall and Bright lines indicate times where many top players are casting that spell
If a momnent in combat has clear patterns for a spell, or a spell type. That is a good place to start planning for yourself. If the fight has no clear patterns, then you can deduce that theres many ways to plan cds for that fight.
This helps you identify the critical moments in a fight where cds such as Raid cds or Defensives matter most.
Heatmap on CD Planner
Supporters get the heatmap overlay directly on the CD Planner timeline. This shows top-ranked usage patterns behind your own assignments, so you can plan with real data as a backdrop.
