Privacy Policy

We keep what it takes to run your raid tools and nothing more, and we never sell it. This page lists everything we collect, why, who sees it and how to remove it.

1. Who is responsible

WowUtils, the team behind wowutils.com and Viserio Cooldowns, is responsible for the personal data described here. This policy covers the website, the WowUtils addon, the WowUtils Bridge desktop app, the Baldio Discord bot and the public API. 2. The short version

  • You sign in with Battle.net. We get your battletag and an account number, never your email or password.
  • What you and your group make in WowUtils is stored so your group can use it.
  • Linking Discord, Warcraft Logs or Patreon, or becoming a supporter, is always your choice.
  • We show ads and measure visits with Google. In the EU, UK and Switzerland you choose first.
  • Your data stays on servers in the EU. We never sell it.
  • You can delete your account yourself, and ask us for a copy of your data at any time.

3. What we collect

  • Your account. From Battle.net: your account number and battletag. Your Battle.net login token stays in your browser’s sign-in cookie. We also note when you were last active.
  • Accounts you link. If you link Discord, Warcraft Logs or Patreon, we keep your id and name on that service and, where a feature needs it, a login token so it can act for you.
  • Supporter payments. Stripe handles payment; we keep your plan, its status and renewal date. Stripe collects your payment details, email and billing address. We never see your card.
  • What you and your group make. Plans, notes, rosters, calendars, loot tools, recruiting applications and everything else you create, plus a history of who changed what in a group.
  • Players listed by others. Officers can add players to a roster before those players ever sign in. For characters on a roster we use publicly available game data, such as character profiles, gear and public combat logs.
  • The WowUtils addon and Bridge. The addon records gameplay progress the game shows but the web does not, such as currencies and Great Vault progress. Guildmates who run it share this with each other in game, and a paired Bridge app uploads it, only for characters on the uploader’s own group rosters. For each paired device we keep its name, system and when it was last used. No account details travel through the game.
  • Technical data. Our servers log requests with their IP address, to keep the service running and block abuse. When something breaks in your browser we receive an error report, linked to your account if you are signed in.
  • Analytics and ads. Google Analytics measures visits and Google AdSense shows ads. Supporters, and members of groups boosted to the highest tier, see no ads. The Cookie Policy has the details.

4. Why we use it

  • To run what you asked for: your account, your groups and their tools, linked accounts and supporter perks.
  • Because it is needed to run a fair, working service: security and abuse logs, error reports, showing a group the public game data of the characters on its roster, and the addon data its members upload.
  • To build anonymous statistics: we combine data from all groups into figures such as raid clear speed or time between pulls. They power comparisons like “faster than 70% of guilds”, help us improve WowUtils and may be shared in general form. They never name a player or group.
  • With your consent: analytics and personalized ads in the EU, UK and Switzerland. You can change your choice at any time from the Cookie Policy.
  • Because the law requires it: payment and tax records, kept by Stripe.

5. Who sees it

  • Your groups. Members see the group’s content as its admins allow. Anyone can see what you choose to make public, such as a plan you publish to the Library, which hides player names and shows your creator name.
  • Tools your group connects. If a group admin turns on API sharing, the group’s connected tools can read its data as the API Terms describe. A group linked to Discord shares raid signups and changes with our Discord bot in that server.
  • Companies that help us run WowUtils: hosting and database providers, a network and security provider, Stripe and Patreon for payments, Google for analytics and ads, and a cookie-consent provider. They only handle data for us.
  • Other sites in your browser. Item tooltips and embedded videos load straight from the sites that host them.

We never sell personal data, and we never share it for anyone else’s marketing.

6. Where it is stored

Our servers and database are in the EU. Some of the companies that help us are based in the US; data that reaches them is protected by the safeguards EU law requires, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

7. How long we keep it

  • Your account and linked accounts: until you unlink them or delete your account.
  • Group content, including addon data: as long as the group keeps it.
  • Group change history: up to three years, depending on the group’s boost tier.
  • Logs and error reports: only as long as needed to run and protect the service, at most a few months.
  • Payment records: kept by Stripe as long as tax law requires.
  • Anonymous statistics: kept, since they no longer point to anyone.

8. Deleting your account

Delete your account from your profile page. It removes your account, your sign-ins, your supporter records and your linked Discord, Warcraft Logs and Patreon accounts, disconnects your paired devices and releases your boosts. Cancel any running subscription first.

Content you made inside a group belongs to that group and stays there, including your signups and the group’s change history. Plans you published to the Library stay public unless you remove them first. Ask us if you want something specific removed as well.

9. Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to limit what we do with it, or object to how we use it, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Email us or ask on Discord and we answer within a month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or the one in your own country.

10. Listed without an account

If a group added you to its roster and you do not want to be listed, ask an admin of that group to remove you, or contact us and we will take care of it.

11. Children

WowUtils is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

12. Changes

We update this policy when WowUtils changes what it collects; the date at the top shows the last change. We announce bigger changes in our news or on Discord.
