Settings is your group's control panel, split into five tabs. General holds region and roster rules, Raid Data controls Warcraft Logs, loot history, death tracking, custom bosses, and Droptimizer standards, API Access shares data with outside tools, the Audit Log tracks who changed what, and the Danger Zone holds the actions you can't undo.
Finding a setting
Open Settings
From your Group Hub sidebar, open Settings.
Pick a sub-view
A row of tabs across the top switches between General, Raid Data, API Access, Audit Log, and Danger Zone.
Change what you need
Settings are laid out as compact rows: each one names the setting, says what it does in a line, and puts the switch or dropdown on the right. Choosing an option applies it right away; there's no separate save button to remember.
What lives where
| Tab | Who sees it | What it controls |
|---|---|---|
| General | Region and default realm: everyone. The rest: admins only. | Region & default realm, calendar server time, roster claiming mode, letting players self-add, the raid summary gear floor, whether new resets start as private drafts, the default permission preset for new members, and note-nickname settings |
| Raid Data | Admins | Warcraft Logs import/view permissions, loot history view/import permissions, the wipe death-tracking limit, per-player reliability sharing, custom bosses, and Droptimizer import standards |
| API Access | Admins | Turning API sharing on or off, managing your one API key, and your hourly quota |
| Audit Log | Admins | A record of who changed what in your group, and when. Covered in full in its own guide. |
| Danger Zone | Everyone, but the destructive actions are gated by role | Transfer ownership and delete the group (owner only), or leave the group (everyone else) |
If you're not an admin, the Raid Data, API Access, and Audit Log tabs don't show up in that row at all; you'll only see General and Danger Zone. Deep-linking to one of the hidden tabs directly shows a notice instead of the page.
Sharing your data with other tools
API Access is how you let outside tools, like a Discord bot, a spreadsheet, or your own site, read your group's roster, resets, and note metadata. It's off by default: nothing leaves your group until an admin turns it on.
Turn on API Sharing
Flip the switch in the API Access tab. Nothing is exposed until this is on.
Create a key
Describe what you're building (at least 10 characters, so we know what's using your data) and optionally leave a contact. You get one key per group.
Copy the secret now
The full key is shown exactly once, right after you create it. Store it somewhere safe; there's no way to see it again later.
API quota by boost tier
Your group's hourly budget is set by its boost tier: 60 points/hour on Tier 1, 225/hour on Tier 2, and 600/hour on Tier 3. Reading data costs 1 point, saving a change costs 2, and importing a droptimizer costs 5. A cached response your tool already has (a 304) is free and doesn't touch your quota at all.
Regenerating or revoking a key
Regenerate replaces your key immediately, prefilled with your current description so you only need to change what's different. Revoke removes it with no replacement. Either one breaks any integration still using the old key right away, so line up the swap before you click it. You can always create a new key afterward.
Raid Data
The Raid Data tab (renamed from "Config") governs everything the tool learns about your raid: logs, loot, deaths, custom bosses, and how it judges droptimizer sims. Each group only appears once the thing it controls is available: the Warcraft Logs group needs a linked WCL guild, and the Loot History group needs an imported Battle.net guild.
- Warcraft Logs: who can import guild reports and retry failed imports, and who can open the Insights and WCL Stats tabs.
- Loot History: who can open the Loot History tab and its past-loot records, and who can bring in RCLootCouncil exports and manage character aliases.
- Raid Insights: the wipe death limit caps how many deaths per player count against a wipe pull's stats (cascade deaths at the end of a wipe are always excluded), and per-player reliability sharing shows every raider the full reliability table instead of just their own row. Officers always see everyone either way.
- Custom Bosses: turns on the advanced Custom Boss builder so your group can plan around bosses with their own phases and ability timers.
Droptimizer standards
The Droptimizer group sets the bar a sim has to clear before it counts for your group, so everyone's item comparisons are measured the same way.
- Raid item level targets: pick which difficulties need a sim and the item level members should be simming at for each one. Only the difficulties you switch on ask for a sim.
- M+ loot tracking: track end-of-run dungeon drops (Hero track) and Great Vault rewards (Myth track) from droptimizer reports, which also turns on the Dungeons tab. You can require a specific key level so sims from other key levels get flagged.
- Sim validation: a set of checks that reject cooked sims. Fight length keeps people from simming 30-second fights to inflate burst (300s is standard). Min iterations cuts the RNG noise you get from a low iteration count. Target count keeps single-target comparisons honest instead of inflating AoE gear. Upgrade equipped makes the sim baseline use fully-upgraded gear so gains reflect real upgrades. Require Vault Socket compares every eligible item with a socket so an extra socket doesn't skew the ranking. Require Patchwerk rejects sims run on a different fight style, since rankings only compare fairly on the same one. Require optimal buffs makes every sim share the same buff baseline. Block custom APL and Block Power Infusion reject sims that use a custom rotation or a PI buff, both of which can distort item values.
- Freshness: how many days a sim can age before it's flagged as outdated. Leave it blank for no limit.
- Auto-remove outdated sims: turn this on and sims past the freshness limit are removed for the whole team instead of just being flagged, so the Loot tab only ever shows current sims. Members re-import to get back on the sheet. If a member's readiness still relied on that old sim, they'll now show as having no sim at all rather than an old one.
Note Nicknames
A nickname lets a player show up in copied cooldown and assignment notes under a name they chose instead of their character name. You turn nicknames on per note type under General → Note Nicknames, and each player sets their own nickname on the Roster page (edit a member and fill in the Nickname field).
In-game, nicknames are handled by the Northern Sky Raid Tools (NSRT) addon: each player sets their own nickname in NSRT, and you can share a nickname list for the group to import so everyone matches. Export your list from the Import/Export menu at the top-right of the Roster page ("Export NSRT Nicknames") and have your raiders import it.
Everyone needs the same nickname set in NSRT
A nickname only fires reminders for players who've set that same nickname in their own NSRT. If someone is shown under a nickname they haven't set up in NSRT, their reminders won't fire, so make sure everyone imports your exported nickname list before you rely on this.
You can read more about how nicknames work in the NSRT addon description on CurseForge.
Tracking who changed what
The Audit Log tab records administrative changes across your group: who made them, what changed, and when. It's its own full guide: see Audit Log for what gets recorded and how long it's kept.
The Danger Zone
The Danger Zone holds the actions you can't undo. What you see there depends on whether you're the group's owner:
- Transfer Ownership (owner only): pick another member to become the new owner from a list, then confirm. This cannot be undone from your side once it's done.
- Delete Group (owner only): permanently deletes the group and all its data. Every member loses access, and this cannot be undone.
- Leave Group (everyone except the owner): removes you from the group. You'll need a new invite link to rejoin.
Every action here needs a confirmation
Transfer, delete, and leave all open a confirmation dialog before anything happens, so a stray click can't trigger one of these by accident. Read it before you confirm; none of the three can be reversed afterward.
