Your Team Roster

Build your raid team roster: add players and characters, let each raider claim their own spot, and copy a roster between teams.

In short

Roster > Raid Team is your team's characters, grouped by role. Editors add players and characters by hand, and each raider claims their own spot so they can keep their own characters up to date.

Add a player

1

Open Roster, then Raid Team

Players are grouped by role: tanks, healers, melee and ranged.

2

Press Add under a role

Add Tank, Add Healer, Add Melee or Add Ranged. Admins and members with Edit Roster can add players.

3

Name them

Enter the Member name. A nickname and their BattleTag are optional.

4

Add their characters

On the player's card, press Add, pick the class and spec, type the character's name and press Add Character. The player can add their own once they've claimed the card.

A Retail character also needs its realm.

On a Retail team with a linked guild, raiders can also import their characters from Battle.net after they claim their spot. Joining a Team shows how.

Main, alt and inactive

Open a character to set how it's played:

  • Set as main: makes it the player's main. Each player has one.
  • Mark as alt: keeps it on the roster as one of their other characters.
  • Mark inactive: a character nobody plays right now. It stays on the roster but is hidden, and doesn't count toward your roster limit. Mark active brings it back.

Claiming your spot

Claiming links a roster spot to your account, so the characters on it are yours to keep up to date (with Edit Own Roster Card, on by default).

1

Find your name on Raid Team

Ask an admin to add you if it isn't there yet.

2

Press Claim as mine

It's in the card's menu, or Request to claim when your team approves claims. You can claim one spot per team, and Release claim from the same menu any time.

Admins choose how claiming works under Settings > General, in Claiming roster spots:

SettingWhat happens
Self-claim (members claim freely)Members with Self-Claim claim any open spot on their own. The default.
Request + ApproveMembers ask, and admins answer under Pending claim requests.
Admin OnlyOnly admins link people to roster spots.

Guild Roster

Guild Roster is the second view under Roster, next to Raid Team.

It lists the characters of the Battle.net guild your team imports. Setting Up Your Group covers the guild import.

Roster limit

Your boost tier sets how many active characters the roster tracks. At the limit, Add Character is greyed out until you mark characters inactive, remove some, or boost the team.

Copy or import a roster

Under Import / Export, editors can:

  • Copy from another team: start from one of your other teams of the same game. Add to this roster keeps everyone already here; Replace this roster starts over with the other team's roster.
  • Import a roster: paste a roster someone copied with Export this roster on another team. Characters whose class or spec this team's game doesn't have are named and left out, and the rest import. A player left with none of their characters is left out too, unless you tick them to add them with no characters.

Frequently asked questions

Can I copy a Retail roster into a WoW Forever team?
No. A team holds only its own game's classes. Copy from another team lists teams of the same game, and an import skips every character whose class or spec the team's game doesn't have, naming each one it skipped.
Why is Add Character greyed out?
Your roster is at its character limit. Mark characters nobody plays as inactive, since inactive characters don't count, or boost the team for a higher limit.
Why can't I claim my spot?
Either you already claim another spot on this team (unclaim that one first), your rank has Self-Claim switched off, or your team lets only admins assign spots. Ask an admin.
