Resets & Setups

Plan your raid week with Resets and Setups

Last updated: February 25, 2026

What is a Reset

A Reset represents a weekly raid lockout. Each reset holds one or more Setups, letting you organise your entire week of raiding in one place.

Duplicate a previous reset to start a new week with the same structure, then adjust as needed.

What is a Setup

A Setup defines who is in on each boss for a specific raid night or split run. Each reset can have multiple setups; for example "Thursday Heroic" and "Sunday Mythic".

Setups are where you link your Cooldown and Assignment pages, and from where you copy the plan to share with your raid in the NSRT Adddon.

Reset page overview

Create a Reset and Setup

  1. In the left sidebar, click Add Reset to create a new reset. Or click Duplicate on a previous reset to carry over last week's structure.
  2. Add a Setup tab at the top of the reset. You can create multiple setups per reset.
  3. Rename each setup so raiders know what it is (e.g. "Thursday Mythic", "Split 1 Heroic").

Update Roster

Click Update Roster to pull the latest changes from your Group Hub roster into the setup.

  • Adds players from the Group Hub Roster to the Setup. Each Member gets a row with all their characters.
  • Clears players added manually on the Setup page that arent in the Group Hub Roster.
  • Maintains current in/out status of players in the Setup

Toggle People In and Out

  • Click a player name on the left to toggle them in/out on all bosses at once. Or click the name on a per-boss basis.
  • Click the area below a boss column to toggle everyone in/out on that boss
  • Use the icon to switch Character Selection for a player, either all bosses, or per boss.
  • Click the Spec icon to switch the spec for a player.
  • Each player row shows how many vault slots they unlock

Each boss column has CD and AS buttons at the top. Click one to create a linked page for that boss.

1

Click CD or AS on a boss column

Creates a new Cooldown or Assignment page linked to this Setup.

2

Plan your cooldowns or assignments

The linked page inherits the Setup's roster automatically. Toggle someone out of a boss in the Setup and they become inactive in that boss's CD plan, or highlighted for reassignment in Assignments.

3

Return to the Setup to copy notes

Use Copy All Notes to export everything at once.

Setup Indicators

The Setup page helps you catch issues when changing rosters week to week:

  • A yellow border on the AS button means someone is assigned but not in the setup
  • Hover the boss icon to see warnings like "Missing Raidbuffs" or "Player is in Assignments but not in the Setup"

For more detail, see the Cooldown Planning and Assignment Planning guides.

Copy All Notes

Click Copy All Notes at the top of the Setup page to export everything for every boss in one go. This copies:

  • Cooldowns
  • Assignments
  • Invite list
  • Raidframe arrangements

Paste the output into Northern Sky Raid Tools in-game, then toggle the active note before each boss pull.

You can also copy per boss using the Copy button on individual boss columns.

For more on how to use NSRT and get the notes into the addon, see the NSRT Guide.

Group Arrangement

Click the icon next to the player count on any boss column to open the Group Arrangement dialog. This lets you pre-configure which raid group each player belongs to.

Group Arrangement Dialog
  • Drag and drop players from the Available list into group slots, or click a slot to pick from a dropdown
  • Players not active on the boss are highlighted with a red border so you know who to replace

When you copy notes, the invite list order follows your group arrangement. In-game, use the Arrange button in /ns reminders to sort your raidframes into the configured groups.

Use the buttons at the top of the dialog to quickly sort:

  • Tank, Melee, Ranged, Healer — fills groups sequentially in role order
  • Split Raid — balanced two-way split with role parity and Monk/DK/DH distribution
  • Boss-specific strategies (e.g., Alndust Soak Split on Chimaerus Mythic) — reads your assignment data and arranges groups based on soak assignments

Pin it (click the pin icon) to auto-run it every time you copy notes for that boss — ensuring your raidframes are always sorted correctly without opening the dialog.

Sim Values

Toggle Sim Values from the top left of the Setup page to show droptimizer DPS upgrade values per player on each boss column. This uses the Loot Wishlist droptimizer data your group has imported.

Sim Values on Setup

This helps with bench decisions and loot priority by showing at a glance how much each player stands to gain from a boss's loot.
