Assignment Planning
Plan non-cooldown raid jobs — reminders, positioning, groups, and more — easily updated week to week
What Are Assignments
Assignments cover everything your raid needs to plan that isn't a cooldown — positioning, group splits, interrupt orders, custom reminders, and any other task that gets delegated from week to week. Outputs for NSRT Reminder note alongside the Cooldown Planners output, as well as a readable text note.
Think of it as the collaborative to-do list for your raid night. Easy to update each week when the roster changes.
Collaborative Editing
Multiple editors can work on the same Assignment page at the same time, changes save automatically, and it syncs real-time to the Player-sheets your raiders might be viewing.
Creating & Managing
Create an Assignment from Setup
On the Setup page, click AS in a boss column. This creates the Assignment page and links it to the Setup. The roster syncs automatically — players in the Setup appear in the Assignment.
Smart Roster Sync
Changing who is in/out on the Setup updates the Assignment roster. New players are added automatically. Players no longer in the Setup are highlighted for reassignment.
Plan Each Assignment
Toggle which assignment packs to use at the top of the page, then work through each block — assign players, fill in reminders, and link raidplans. Preview the output as you go.
Copy on Raid Night
Go to the Setup page and click Copy All Notes to copy CDs, Assignments, invite lists, and raidframe arrangements for every boss at once. Paste into Northern Sky Raid Tools in-game.
View Modes
The Assignment page has three view modes, toggled at the top of the page:
- Editor Expanded — full layout with all descriptions visible. Has more information and is easier to learn the tool.
- Editor Compact — condensed layout with descriptions hidden.
- Viewer — read-only, shows only non-empty assignments. This is what view-only members see.
Reminders
Reminders come with pre-set defaults — timing, phase, display text is already filled out.
You can override any parameter per reminder via the settings button on each row:
- Time — seconds from phase start
- Phase — which phase the reminder triggers in
- Text — what shows on screen
- TTS — what's spoken aloud via NSRT
- Color — text color for emphasis
Clearing an override resets that field back to its default. This means you only need to touch the fields you want to change.
Click the Preview button to see an example of the output. Each Reminder assignment has a two part output. One is the NSRT formatted Reminder code, the other is the readable text version for the Text Note.
Custom Reminders
Custom Reminders are reminders you create entirely from scratch. Unlike Reminders, there are no defaults — you define everything yourself:
- Block title and row labels
- Timing, phase, text, TTS, and color for each entry
- Add or remove rows as needed (up to 10 per block)
Use Custom Reminders for raid-specific mechanics, improvised callouts, or anything not covered by the built-in packs. They give the same output as the pr defined reminers, but only gives Reminder code if phase and time are set.
Assigning Players
Each assignment has rows for player or text input. Assign players by:
- Drag players from the Available Players list into assignment rows
- Click a row to see Available and Unavailable players
Clicking a Row also brings up options for Generalised Assignmnets, like Everyone, Tanks, Healers, Melee, Ranged, or specific classes and specs. These tags also work for the in-game reminders!
Setup Sync & Roster Warnings
Assignments linked to a Setup automatically sync the roster. When you change who is in or out on the Setup page, the Assignment roster updates to match.
- New players added to the Setup appear in the Assignment roster
- Players removed from the Setup but still assigned are highlighted by being greyed out with a ? icon, so you know to reassign their tasks.
- Yellow warnings appear on the On This Page in the top left of the page, if any player is assigned but not in the Setup. Click to go fix them.
- The AS button on the Setup page turns yellow if any player is assigned but not in the Setup
This makes week-to-week updates straightforward — adjust the Setup roster and the Assignments page tells you exactly what needs attention.
Highlight Your Characters
Click the highlight button at the top of the page to highlight your own characters across all assignments. This makes it easy to scan the page and spot everywhere you're assigned at a glance.
Only available if you've claimed a character in the Group Hub.
Raidstrats Embeds
Assignment blocks can include an embedded raidstrats.gg raidplan. These show positioning maps inline with the assignment, so players can see exactly where to stand without leaving the page.
The embed automatically matches roster players to raidplan slots based on the assigned index and raidstrats item index. When you assign players to positioning rows, the raidplan updates to show those players in the correct positions.
Each block can have its own raidplan, some assignments may have predefined plans, and raidplan IDs are always editable if you want to link your own plan instead.
Player-Sheet
Raiders see their assignments on their Player-Sheet — a personalised view collecting everything across every boss in the Setup.
If an assignment has a raidplan linked, the raidplan is shown inline on the Player-Sheet so the raider can see their position without navigating to the full Assignment page.
This is the page raiders should have open during raid night. It even updates live when the raidleader makes changes.
Sharing & Export
Copy
On the Setup page, click the copy button next to AS to copy all Assignments for that boss. Or use Copy All Notes to copy CDs, Assignments, invite lists, and raidframe arrangements for every boss at once.
