WowUtils Bridge Setup: Install, Pair, and Sync

Install the WowUtils Bridge desktop app, get past the Windows SmartScreen prompt, pair it with your account, and have wishlists and sims flow into the game on their own.

In short

WowUtils Bridge is the small Windows tray app that connects the website and the game: your team's wishlists and sims flow in, and what the addon learned in-game flows back to your group. One person per guild runs it, usually an Owner or Admin.

Download it from wowutils.com/bridge, sign in once through your browser, and it does the rest on its own.

Set It Up

Install the WowUtils addon first

Bridge delivers data to the game through the WowUtils addon, so install that from CurseForge before anything else. The rest of your raid installs the addon too; only you need Bridge.

Download Bridge

Grab the installer from wowutils.com/bridge. It is free, and the page always offers the current version.

Run the installer

No admin rights needed, and it takes seconds. If Windows shows a blue warning screen, that is SmartScreen being cautious with a new release: see the section below, it is two clicks.

Link it to WowUtils

Click Link to WowUtils in Bridge. Your browser opens a WowUtils page asking to approve this computer. Approve it, and the app is paired with your account. Bridge never sees your password: the sign-in happens entirely in your own browser.

Pick your raid groups

On the Raid groups screen, tick the groups whose loot data should go into the game. Ticked groups sync, unticked ones stay out.

Sync and restart the game once

Bridge finds your World of Warcraft install by itself and starts syncing. The first sync sets up a small data addon in your game folder, so restart World of Warcraft once if it is running. After that, data simply stays current.

Once it is linked and syncing, the Overview screen tells you everything at a glance: when data last moved, and when the next check runs.

If Windows Shows a Warning

For the first days after each new Bridge release, Windows SmartScreen may show "Windows protected your PC" when you run the installer. That is Windows being cautious with a file it has not seen many times yet, not a judgment about the file: every release is signed by WowUtils.

Check the publisher

It should read WowUtils. If it says anything else, stop and re-download from wowutils.com/bridge.

Click Run anyway

The installer starts normally from there.

Your browser can be cautious too. Right after a release, the download itself may get flagged as an unrecognized file. Open your browser's download list, click the flagged file, and choose Keep to finish the download.

How to verify the download yourself

Every release is signed: right-click the installer, open Properties, then Digital Signatures, and the signer should read WowUtils. The download page also shows the current version's SHA-256 checksum with a ready-made PowerShell line to compare against your file.

What It Does From Here

  • Runs quietly in the tray. No launcher, no window demanding attention. Open it any time to see what it last synced, or hit Sync now.
  • Keeps the game current. Your team's wishlists and droptimizer sims from WowUtils are waiting in-game next time you load in, and the addon shares them with the rest of the guild.
  • Carries the game's answers back. Crests, upgrade progress, vault contents, and Spark counts collected by the addon flow back to your group on the site. What moves exactly: what the addon collects and shares.
  • Updates itself. Bridge checks for a new version once a day and installs it quietly, never while World of Warcraft is running.

Right-clicking the tray icon gives you the essentials without opening the window: last sync, next sync, Sync now, and sign-out. If you do not see the icon, it lives in the tray overflow (the little arrow next to your clock).

Frequently asked questions

Why does Windows warn me when I run the Bridge installer?
Right after a new release, Windows SmartScreen can show "Windows protected your PC" for a file it has not seen many times yet. Every Bridge release is signed by WowUtils: click More info, check the publisher reads WowUtils, and choose Run anyway. The warning fades on its own as more people install that release.
Does everyone in the guild need to run Bridge?
No, one person is enough, usually an Owner or Admin of your group. They run Bridge on their PC, and the WowUtils addon carries the data from their game to everyone else in the guild who runs the addon.
What platforms does Bridge run on?
Windows. It is built on a cross-platform foundation, so other platforms can follow, but Windows is the one it runs on today.
How do I unpair a computer?
On the website, open your profile's Linked Accounts tab and find the Linked Devices card. Revoking a device signs that computer out immediately: its next sync is rejected and the app asks for a fresh sign-in.
