Group Settings & Safety

Where region, roster rules, API sharing, and the irreversible group actions all live, and who can reach each one.

In short

Settings is your group's control panel, split into five tabs. General holds region and roster rules, API Access shares data with outside tools, Config controls Warcraft Logs and loot-history visibility, the Audit Log tracks who changed what, and the Danger Zone holds the actions you can't undo.

Finding a setting

1

Open Settings

From your Group Hub sidebar, open Settings.

2

Pick a sub-view

A row of tabs across the top switches between General, API Access, Config, Audit Log, and Danger Zone.

3

Change what you need

Most controls here are selects, switches, or short text fields. Choosing an option applies it right away; there's no separate save button to remember.

What lives where

TabWho sees itWhat it controls
GeneralRegion and default realm: everyone. The rest: admins only.Region & default realm, calendar server time, roster claiming mode, letting players self-add, the raid summary gear floor, whether new resets start as private drafts, the default permission preset for new members, and NSRT note-nickname settings
API AccessAdminsTurning API sharing on or off, managing your one API key, and your hourly quota
ConfigAdminsWarcraft Logs import/view permissions, loot history view/import permissions, the wipe death-tracking limit, custom bosses, and Droptimizer import standards
Audit LogAdminsA record of who changed what in your group, and when. Covered in full in its own guide.
Danger ZoneEveryone, but the destructive actions are gated by roleTransfer ownership and delete the group (owner only), or leave the group (everyone else)

If you're not an admin, the API Access, Config, and Audit Log tabs don't show up in that row at all; you'll only see General and Danger Zone. Deep-linking to one of the hidden tabs directly shows a notice instead of the page.

Sharing your data with other tools

API Access is how you let outside tools, like a Discord bot, a spreadsheet, or your own site, read your group's roster, resets, and note metadata. It's off by default: nothing leaves your group until an admin turns it on.

1

Turn on API Sharing

Flip the switch in the API Access tab. Nothing is exposed until this is on.

2

Create a key

Describe what you're building (at least 10 characters, so we know what's using your data) and optionally leave a contact. You get one key per group.

3

Copy the secret now

The full key is shown exactly once, right after you create it. Store it somewhere safe; there's no way to see it again later.

API quota by boost tier

Your group's hourly budget is set by its boost tier: 60 points/hour on Tier 1, 225/hour on Tier 2, and 600/hour on Tier 3. Reading data costs 1 point, saving a change costs 2, and importing a droptimizer costs 5. A cached response your tool already has (a 304) is free and doesn't touch your quota at all.

Regenerating or revoking a key

Regenerate replaces your key immediately, prefilled with your current description so you only need to change what's different. Revoke removes it with no replacement. Either one breaks any integration still using the old key right away, so line up the swap before you click it. You can always create a new key afterward.

Config: Warcraft Logs, loot history, and custom bosses

Config cards only appear once the thing they control is linked: the Warcraft Logs cards need a linked WCL guild, and the loot history cards need an imported Battle.net guild.

  • WCL Import / Data Visibility: who can import guild reports and retry failed jobs, and who can see the Insights and WCL Stats tabs.
  • Loot History Visibility / Import: who can see loot history and import RCLootCouncil exports.
  • Death Tracking: caps how many deaths per player count against a wipe pull's stats. Cascade deaths at the end of a wipe are always excluded from the count.
  • Custom Bosses: turns on the advanced Custom Boss builder for the group.
  • Droptimizer: sets the standards a sim needs to meet to count for your group (target raid item level per difficulty, how stale a sim can get, and minimum sim quality like duration, iterations, and target count).

Tracking who changed what

The Audit Log tab records administrative changes across your group: who made them, what changed, and when. It's its own full guide: see Audit Log for what gets recorded and how long it's kept.

The Danger Zone

The Danger Zone holds the actions you can't undo. What you see there depends on whether you're the group's owner:

  • Transfer Ownership (owner only): pick another member to become the new owner from a list, then confirm. This cannot be undone from your side once it's done.
  • Delete Group (owner only): permanently deletes the group and all its data. Every member loses access, and this cannot be undone.
  • Leave Group (everyone except the owner): removes you from the group. You'll need a new invite link to rejoin.

Frequently asked questions

Who can see the Danger Zone?
Everyone in the group sees the Danger Zone tab, but Transfer Ownership and Delete Group only appear for the group's owner. Everyone else sees Leave Group there instead.
Is API sharing on by default?
No. API Sharing starts off, and an admin has to switch it on before any of your group's roster, resets, or notes can be read through the public API.
What happens if I regenerate or revoke my API key?
The old key stops working immediately. Any integration still using it breaks until you update it with the new key, so only do this when you're ready to swap it over right away.
