We've updated our terms and policies. They're rewritten in plain language to match how WowUtils works today, and they now spell out what counts as abusive use.
Why now
Like a lot of tools, we're seeing more abuse, mostly:
- Large-scale scraping.
- Misuse of our API.
- AI agents set loose to collect data from the site in bulk.
- Other sites copying our content word for word and lifting the data files behind our pages unchanged.
Some of that traffic has been heavy enough to slow the site down for everyone.
The simple rule
Use the site however suits you, AI assistant included. What isn't allowed is collecting the site in bulk or hammering it with automated traffic. If you want to automate something, use the public API within its terms. If you give an AI agent access to your account, you're responsible for what it does with it.
Accounts that break the terms get suspended automatically, and we'll be stricter about it from here on.
