v4.2.0: Granular Permissions

8 March 2026

Penkek

Yes, it's v4.2.0. Yes, that's 420. Yes, it is super funny. Anyway.

The old view/edit toggle has been replaced with a proper permission system. The core problem: giving someone "edit" meant they could edit everything — timelines, assignments, roster, the works. Now you can be more precise.

Permission Presets

Every member gets a preset that controls what they can do:

  • Viewer — Read-only. Can see everything, touch nothing.
  • Raider — Can claim their own roster spot and edit their own characters. Can't touch anyone else's stuff. This is the new default for new members.
  • Editor — Can edit timelines, assignments, roster, and import WCL reports.
  • Officer — Full content access including resets and custom boss management. For trusted non-admins.

Admins and the owner always have full access regardless of preset.

Custom Permissions

Don't like the presets? Expand any member's row in the Members tab to toggle individual permissions. Mix and match however you want — the preset label switches to "Custom" automatically.

What Changed

  • Members tab — Preset dropdown replaces the old "Doc access" column. Click the arrow to expand individual permission toggles.
  • Default preset — In General settings, "Default Member Role" is now "Default Member Preset". New groups default to Raider.
  • Roster claiming — Now gated by the Self-Claim permission instead of requiring edit access.
  • Existing groups — All existing members are automatically migrated. edit members become Editors, view members become Viewers. No action needed.
