v5.41.0: Boss and spell guides, bonus rolls and a ton of feedback

Feature

Written by Viserio

This release leads with guides: cooldown planning guides for the new raid's bosses and a full Season 2 pass on the player spell guides. Your team's bonus roll coins are out in the open too, and a long list of smaller requests and fixes landed across the app.

Boss guides for The Venomous Abyss

The first five bosses of the new raid have their boss guides up: Nek'zali the Soulcoiler, the Entombed Sentinels, Vashnik the Malignant, The Lost Explorers and The Twin Fangs. The rest of the bosses will be added early in the tier.

These are Mythic focused and built for cooldown planning, not full strategy writeups: the damage pattern of the fight, the hits you plan raid cooldowns around, and where leftovers and personal defensives go.

Player spell guides updated for Season 2

The player spell guides got a full pass for the new season. Cooldowns, durations and mechanics were checked against 12.1 changes. Season 1 talent pick rates have been cleared out; fresh Season 2 numbers arrive once the new raid has real logs behind it.

The Guides can be found in the help section, or by clicking the underlined spells in your CD Planner timeline.

Your team's bonus rolls

Picking a bonus roll target has been a private decision so far: you set your coin, and nobody else could tell. This release puts the whole team's coins on the surfaces where loot gets planned.

  • A tally on every boss. Each boss in the Team loot overview's strip shows how many coins point at it, with mains counted in gold and alts trailing as a muted +N.
  • Names under each boss. Every boss section lists who is spending a coin there, split into mains and alts.
  • Hover for the breakdown. The boss hover card opens with the bonus rolls before the upgrade table.
  • The same signal on Setups. Boss headers on the Setups grid carry a coin count for the difficulty you are viewing, with the mains and alts breakdown in its tooltip.

A cleaner Calendar signup

The Calendar view for individual events had a minor facelift: the UI was cleaned up a bit, and the part that is only about you, your own signup, now stands out clearly from the rest. It is still due a proper design change to make it actually nice to use and look at.

A ton of feedback

  • Quick fill is one switch. The assignment picker's quick fill is now a single setting shared by every row, on by default, and the picker opens with the search field ready to type.
  • Duplicate warnings stay visible. Placing someone who is already assigned now shows the warning above the row when the picker would cover it, with a clear Place anyway button.
  • Non-guild raiders are not "missing". Characters outside the linked guild no longer carry a permanent warning and keep their item level on roster surfaces. When a warning does show, group admins can refresh the guild roster straight from it, so a fresh recruit clears on the next sync.
  • QE Live Top Gear links get a real answer. Pasting one into the droptimizer import now explains it carries no upgrade data and points you at Upgrade Finder instead of a generic error.
  • Bonus Roll Targets fit one row. The cards are more compact, so a full raid's bosses share a single row on a wide screen.
  • Cleaner target cards. Boss names get their own row instead of truncating, the coin toggles stack neatly in the corner, and hovering the drop bars now lists every drop at once.
  • Item tooltips on the drop icons. The icons under each boss's drop bars now show the item on hover and open it on Wowhead on click.
  • Minor upgrades read teal. The Major and Minor upgrade tags were nearly the same green; Major is now a vivid mint and Minor teal, so you can tell them apart without reading.
  • Event admin actions in one place. Edit time and Edit bosses moved up into the event header, next to Cancel and Delete.
  • Item levels match your sim. Item tooltips and links across the Loot views, Sim Lab and the You tab now read at the level and upgrade rank of the sim you selected.
  • Season 2 sims count as complete. A droptimizer run against Season 2 Raids no longer reads as missing both raids on the team's loot views.
  • Twin Fangs soaks stagger by pulse. Ravenous Feast is a frontal that hits three times, and every hit leaves Feasted, which stacks into 800% increased damage taken. The soak assignment now splits by pulse instead of firing one call for everyone: Left takes the first, Center the second, Right the third, each with its own reminder on its own hit. Heroic gets the block too, without the lanes: it is just first, second and third soak.
  • Sszorak assignments on Heroic. The Mutilate soak split and the intermission orb popper both have Heroic blocks now, timed off Heroic's own pull. On both difficulties the soak reminder fires once per wave, at the moment the first Mutilate can land, instead of the two staggered calls it used before.
