v4.19.0: WCL Top rework + Rank Permissions editor

3 May 2026

Penkek

Two reworks in this one. Both with the same goal: less time spent fighting the UI, more time planning your raid.

WCL Top page

The page packed two pretty different tools (player rankings and the cooldown heatmap) behind a single toggle, and the controls bar mixed what you were looking at with how it was drawn in one row. You ended up reading the whole bar just to figure out what was on screen.

The page is now structured around that distinction.

  • Two tools, two tabs. Player Rankings and Cooldown Heatmap each get their own tab at the top of the page, so it's obvious both exist and switching between them is one click.
  • Boss strip. Every boss in the raid sits as a small icon at the start of the controls bar. Switching encounter is one click, not "open dropdown, scan list, click". Difficulty stays as a separate Heroic / Mythic toggle next to it so you can change either axis on its own.
  • Spec picker is one searchable popover instead of four hover dropdowns nobody could remember the layout of. The heatmap multi-spec picker is the same shape, with a search box on top.
  • Controls bar regrouped. Left side: what you're looking at (boss, difficulty, spec, metric). Right side: how it's drawn (timeline toggles, sort, zoom).
  • Your settings stick. Sidebar collapsed state, last-used view, heatmap style + categories + specs, and the spec-view timeline toggles all persist between visits. Shared links still open the exact view they were shared with.

Rank Permissions editor

The rank-preset editor (added in v4.2.0) lived in a collapsible panel above the member list, with all four ranks expanded into one long stack of toggle rows. It was noisy if you only wanted to edit one rank.

It's now its own sub-tab next to Members, with a tabbed editor inside.

New Rank Permissions editor, with the Raider tab selected
  • One rank at a time. Pick Viewer, Raider, Editor, or Officer from the tab strip and only that rank's permissions show.
  • Member count on every tab, so you can see at a glance how many people are on each rank, plus how many "Custom" members aren't affected by these toggles.
  • Reset to default per rank sits next to the rank name as soon as you've customised it.
  • Every permission has a description. Hover any toggle for a one-liner on what it actually does. The previously unlabelled ones (Edit Assignments, Edit Resets, Import WCL, Manage Custom Bosses) have proper descriptions too.

Members with hand-tweaked permissions are untouched. They still show as "Custom" in the member list and keep whatever you'd set on them.

As always, feedback and ideas are welcome in Discord.
