v5.44.1: Sim Lab opens up

Feature

Written by Penkek

Sim Lab is open to every team. It started as a replacement for my own raid team's sim spreadsheet, so expect rough edges, but it works and it is one switch away.

Sim Lab

Open Settings, then the Loot tab, and flip the Sim Lab switch in the Droptimizer settings. Team then keeps every droptimizer a raider imports instead of one per difficulty, and a Sim Lab tab appears in Loot, then Team, next to Group Overview, Droptimizers and Tier.

Paste a few Raidbots reports for the same character at different item levels, vault sims at a couple of crest steps, a Mythic base and 6/6, M+ at the level you farm, and every item becomes a curve: what it gains at each level, next to the best thing that raider can farm in Mythic+ instead.

  • Slot decision. One raider, one slot, every simmed item ranked, at your target item level or as it drops. Each row says from which tier it beats your farmable M+ piece, and how many crests that takes.
  • Council. One slot across the whole team. The raiders who simmed an item fall into four bands, biggest gains down to sidegrade or loss, anyone who already farms something as good is marked M+ covers, and an officer can pin a grade over what the numbers say.
  • Item curve. Open any item to see how it scales level by level against the M+ reference.
  • Older gear sets stay readable. Sims from the gear set before this one are kept and dimmed.

Paste many, for every team

The Paste many button on Team now shows for every team, not only the ones running Sim Lab. Drop a whole message of Raidbots links in it and each report lands on its raider and spec. Anything your team's sim rules would refuse one at a time is refused there too.

Catalyst rows on the loot views

A convertible drop is often a loss worn as is and a real upgrade at the catalyst. Group Overview, the class compare and the wishlist rows now show the better of the two, filed on the drop you loot, with a Catalyst → note naming the piece it becomes.

Around the app

  • Item icons fill in faster on big gear grids. The Roster Report's Gear view, and every other page with hundreds of item icons, now asks Wowhead once per item instead of once per cell.
  • Uncapped Mistcrests on the You page. With the WowUtils addon feeding your group, each of your characters shows a Myth crest beside its name: faded until you collect the Cracked Keystone and the Azta'rec Tier ?? first kill, half lit with one, fully lit with both. The Roster Report's Summary view has the same as an Uncapped column in front of the crest balances.
  • Vault cards say when a vault has not been read. A character who has not opened their Great Vault in game with the addon running this week now reads Vault not read yet, instead of showing last week's rewards.

As always, feedback and ideas are welcome in Discord or on the Community page.
