You can now send a test post from a channel card, and the changes feed shows when Baldio last checked it. A card that said On used to look the same whether the bot was running or not.
Check Baldio can post
Pointing Baldio at a channel and finding out whether it worked meant waiting for the next raid night, or for someone to change something the feed would pick up.
- Test post button. Every channel card has one, next to Add reminder. Baldio posts a short message in that channel, usually within a few seconds.
- The answer shows on the card. It says the post went out, or it names the permission Baldio still needs in that channel.
- It comes from the bot, not the website. A test post that lands proves the bot is running and can reach the channel, not just that the channel is set up correctly.
The changes feed says when it last looked
The feed only posts when something happens, so most of the time it is quiet. That looked the same as a feed that had stopped.
- Checked, and last posted. The feed's row reads "Checked 2 minutes ago, nothing new to post", or gives the time of the last thing it posted. Baldio looks about every five minutes.
- The first few minutes after you turn it on. Baldio starts watching from its next check, so a change made straight away is not posted. The row says so until that check happens.
- What it posts. Raid nights created, changed, cancelled or deleted, signup changes, applications, public listing changes, and Discord links. Cooldown plans and roster moves are not posted, and the card no longer says they are.
Around the app
- A last-check line on the Connection tab. "Baldio checked everything 2 minutes ago." It covers all of the bot's scheduled work rather than your server alone, so it answers whether the bot is running at all.
- The changes feed on the Activity tab. It keeps no record of individual posts, so it was the one job missing from that list. It now sits with the rest of them.
- A new front page on wowutils.com, plus a tools page listing everything on the site grouped by what it does. There is also rather a lot of frosted glass on it now, which is a phase I am going through. It will pass.
