v5.27.3: Change a recruiting decision

Update

31 July 2026

Written by Viserio

Recruiting decisions used to be one way. Once an application was accepted or declined there was no route back, and nothing showed what the applicant had actually been told. Both are sorted this release.

Change a decision after the fact

Open a decided application in the Applications tab and there's a Change decision section at the bottom.

  • Flip the outcome. Accept someone you declined, or decline someone you accepted, with a fresh message if you want to explain.
  • Or put it back in review. "Back to review" undoes the decision outright. The application returns to your pipeline and the applicant's page reads as pending again.
  • The join link stops working. Reversing an accept revokes the personal invite that came with it, so nobody walks in on a decision you already corrected. Reopening a decline lifts the 30 day reapply wait too.
  • Someone who already joined keeps their spot. Changing the application never removes a member. When that's the case the dialog says so, and removing them stays a Members and roster action.

See what was sent

  • Message sent. Every decided application shows the message the applicant reads, when the decision landed, and which officer made it. If no message went out, it says that instead of leaving you guessing.
  • The full history. Reverse a decision and the earlier one stays on record, message included, so you can see exactly what was communicated and when. Past applications from the same player carry theirs too.
  • Notes stay open. Officer notes can now be edited after a decision, which is where "why we reversed this" belongs.

Around the app

  • Next tier check-in. A long list of characters no longer pushes the intro and the Save button out of reach.
  • Tab bars on phones. On sections that put tools next to the tabs, the roster pages among them, the tabs could get squeezed to nothing on a phone. The tools now wrap onto their own row and the view switch stays usable.

As always, feedback and ideas are welcome in Discord or on the Community page.
