v5.27.0: Season 2 raids

Update

28 July 2026

Written by Viserio

Season 2 starts on August 11, and the planner is ready for it now. You can point a reset or a single setup at Midnight Season 2 and build your Venomous Abyss and Tidebound Grotto plans.

Pick the season when you make a reset or setup

You can now select the raid Season when creating a new Setup.

  • Season picker on new resets and setups. Making a reset, or hitting + to add a setup, now asks which season it is for. Season 1 and Season 2 setups can sit side by side in the same week.

Early access for Supporters until August 4

The Season 2 raids are open to everyone to look at, but creating plans for them is a Supporter perk for the first week. That means public access to Cooldown and Assignment planning happens on August 4th.

  • What's gated. Creating cooldown plans and assignments for The Venomous Abyss and The Tidebound Grotto needs Rare Supporter or higher until August 4, after which it opens to everyone.
  • What stays free. Browsing the raids, their bosses and every boss timer is free for everyone, as is the rest of the planner.

Timers for the Season 2 bosses

Heroic and Mythic timers are all based on PTR testing data, and is likely to change when the raid goes live. Ula'tek is in the boss list but has no timers yet.

When a boss is changed you dont need to do anything. Unless the changelog at the top of the CD planner tells you that you might want to adjust your CD plan.

  • Phase cues in your copied notes. Every Season 2 boss carries its phase markers, so copying cooldowns writes a phase line at each stage change and the note follows the pull in game.

Assignments and group arrangements

Many assignments are already set up for the bosses, and more are likely to come as strategies and metas establish on live. Until then, you can make Custom Assignments if you want something more.

  • Nek'zali the Soulcoiler. Realm Groups (Mythic).
  • Entombed Sentinels. Blood/Breath Split (Heroic and Mythic).
  • The Lost Explorers. Fish Throw Job (Heroic and Mythic).
  • Sszorak. Mutilate Soaks and Orb Popper (Mythic).
  • The Twin Fangs. Broodling Kicks and Tainted Blood Soak (Mythic).
  • The Coiled Altar. Guillotine Soaks and Orb Carrier Duty (Heroic and Mythic).

Group splits and similar assignments have been set up for the Group Arrangement feature on the setup page.

Pick your empower order

Two bosses change their ability order based on what the raid picks, so the timeline now lets you say which.

  • The Lost Explorers. Choose which explorer is empowered in each phase: Gebbo, Iku and Nama, each used once.
  • Vashnik the Malignant. Choose the empowered pair for each rotation: Blood + Fire, Fire + Shadow, or Blood + Shadow.

The picker sits in the top-left of the boss timeline.

The Empower order picker open on The Lost Explorers timeline, with Gebbo, Iku and Nama assigned to Fish 1, 2 and 3

Bench presets when you add a setup

Adding a split or a second clear used to mean re-benching everyone by hand. The add-setup popover now asks how the new setup should start.

  • Keep bench. Same players active and benched as the setup you have open.
  • All in. Everyone comes in, nobody starts benched.
  • Splitrunning. Benches anyone already sitting on a boss in another setup, so a split can't double-book a player.
  • Swap. Benched players come in, active players sit out.

Around the app

  • Durations and ticks in the assignment timer editor. The timeline in an assignment row's timer settings shades how long each ability lasts and marks its ticks.
  • Collapsed blocks stay how you left them. The assignment page remembers which blocks you had open or collapsed and carries that to next reset's fresh assignment, instead of forgetting per document.
  • Problems still open themselves. A block with an off-roster assignee opens until you decide otherwise, so it can't hide behind a collapsed card.
  • New custom reminders open right away and always land just above the Generic blocks, so reordering your blocks no longer drags the add button up the page.
  • The Raidplan block starts open instead of being default hidden.
  • The Raidstrats addon is out of beta. In-game raidplan popups work end to end now, so the Beta tags are gone from the RSGG Addon button, the cues tab and the settings panel.
  • Cleaner view-only timers. Editing controls no longer show up on timer timelines you can only view.
  • Save stays in reach in your next tier plan. The Save button is pinned to the bottom of the panel, so a long list of characters can't push it out of sight.
  • One save for a night of signups. Edit as many raiders as you like, then hit Save all at the bottom. Anyone with unsaved changes stays open.
  • Signup stats lead with present nights. Each raider's row now shows how many nights they signed present in green, and the answered-on-time percent sits next to it in a quieter color.
  • Planning opens on this week. When the current raid week has a plan, the card at the top of Planning shows it, instead of whichever plan you opened last.
  • Templates open with your raid in them. Opening a boss's cooldowns from the Planning card or from a player sheet lands on the template already showing that setup's roster, instead of unfilled placeholders.
  • Fixed: spots claimed during setup now show on the roster. Claiming from the welcome checklist could leave a raider looking unclaimed, with a second try saying the spot was already taken.
  • And a few other minor ui tweaks.

As always, feedback and ideas are welcome in Discord or on the Community page.
