v5.23.1: Group banners

Feature

20 July 2026

Written by Penkek

Every group now has a banner. There is no image to upload and nothing to commission: it is built from colours, a pattern and a piece of artwork you pick, and it starts from something reasonable on its own.

A guild's banner across the top of the Group Hub, behind the guild name, icon and world rank

Where it shows up

  • Your group page. The banner sits behind your guild name and icon at the top of the Group Hub.
  • Your apply page. The same banner runs across the top of the page applicants land on.
  • Link previews. Paste your apply link into Discord or X and the preview card shows your banner instead of a plain grey box.
  • Downloads. You can save it as an image sized for Twitter, for Discord, or square, for use anywhere else.

Editing is admin-only. It costs nothing and needs no boost, for any group.

The quick version

Click your group icon on the Group Hub and the popover has two tabs now, Icon and Banner. The Banner tab is the short version of the editor: start from a preset, then change the style, the colour, the pattern, and how strong the whole thing reads, from subtle to bold. There is a switch to fade your icon into the background rather than sit it on top, and Reset to auto to go back to the generated one.

The banner studio

Open banner studio at the bottom of that popover goes to the full editor.

  • Nine presets, three families. Painted Light, War Banner and Arcane Engraving, each with three variants. Most groups will land on one of these and change the colour.
  • Artwork. Nine motifs, from curtains and embers to pennants, a rune ring and an engraved plate. You choose where the logo sits and how it is treated.
  • Your roster in it. A strip of class colours taken from your actual roster, and control over whether the guild name, realm and raid progress appear on the downloaded versions.
  • Five previews. Team page, apply page, Twitter, Discord and square, side by side, so you can see the shape it takes before you commit to it.

As always, feedback and ideas are welcome in Discord.
