v5.20.1: Focus mode boss switching and spell defaults per spec

Update

12 July 2026

Written by Penkek

Two planner improvements in this one, both about less redoing: focus mode gained a boss switcher, and the planner can now remember which spells you show for each spec.

Focus mode

Focusing on one boss dropped you back to the full grid every time you wanted the next fight. Focus mode now carries its own boss strip and marks how the roster changes as you move through the night.

  • Switch bosses without leaving focus. A boss strip sits at the top of focus mode, so you move from one fight to the next while staying zoomed in on a single boss.
  • See who's in and who's out. Stepping from boss to boss, each row is marked when someone joins or drops compared to the previous boss, so a comp change between fights stands out.

The planner remembers your spells per spec

Every player row shows their spec's full spell list, and most raid leaders hide the spells they never assign so the row only shows what matters. Until now that clean-up was per player, per note: hide twenty Druid spells today, hide the same twenty again tomorrow.

Now you can save that clean-up once per spec:

  • Set up one player, save it for the spec. Open a player's Spells panel, show and hide until the row looks right, then press the save button at the top: Save as Balance Druid default.
  • Every next player of that spec starts your way. Add any Balance Druid to any plan and their row opens with your saved layout already applied, only the spells you actually assign.
  • Existing players catch up in a click. On a player you set up earlier, press Use Balance Druid default in the same panel to apply your saved layout to them too.

Around the app

  • Cleaner sim data in the public API. For developers building on our public API, imported sims now say whether they came from Raidbots or QE Live and include each character's spec, so the numbers read correctly for each source.

As always, feedback and ideas are welcome in Discord.
