Guilds have asked for a long time to pull their Viserio roster and weekly setups into their own tools and spreadsheets instead of re-typing them. There is now a supported way to do that: a read-only API for your group.
What you can pull
It exposes the parts of your group that other tools want to read, and nothing else. It only reads, so there is no way to change your group through it.
- Roster. Your members and their characters: name, realm, class and spec, rank, and who has claimed what.
- Raid resets. Each week's setups: boss order, the players in them, and which notes and assignments are attached.
- Notes and assignments. Structure and labels only: name, boss, difficulty, counts, timestamps. The contents of a note are never returned.
Turning it on
Access is per group, not per person, and it stays off until a group admin turns it on.
- A group admin enables it. In your group, open Settings, then API Access, and turn on sharing. Not an admin? Ask your raid lead.
- One key, copied once. Each group gets a single key, shown once when you create it. The developers page shows exactly how to send it.
- Boosting lifts the ceiling. Every opted-in group can use the API, including unboosted ones. Each group gets a per-hour request budget, and boosting your group raises that ceiling.
The developers page has the full setup steps, the request format, and a link to the complete API reference, along with the Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, and a Data Handling note.
v1 is deliberately small and read-only. If you need something it does not do yet, tell us in Discord and ask for Penkek: say what you are building and what you need next.
As always, feedback and ideas are welcome in Discord.
