Viserio Cooldowns Hits 1.0!

3/1/2025

Viserio & Penkek

Hey all, we’re very happy (and more than a little proud) to announce the official release of Viserio Cooldowns 1.0! Let’s dive into the features first—then, if we can hold your attention long enough, we (Viserio & Penkek) have a few words we’d love to share.

What’s New in 1.0

  • Assignments
We’re supporting Northern Sky and making Liquid assignments as they’re released. Check them out individually via the overview page, or after creating a setup! We also gave assignments a new look and feel—built on your feedback. Thank you!
  • Resets and Setups
Create weekly setups, figure out which players are in or out for each boss, and see if you’re missing crucial buffs. You’ll know how many Vaults you’re getting and who to swap in or out after a kill. The best part? All your cooldown notes and raid assignments for every boss are on one page. Plus, there’s an option to copy your entire MRT note at once—without having to jump around!
  • Group Invites (Bug Fix)
We’ve adjusted the expiration on invite links from just one hour to a full two days. That should make joining groups a whole lot smoother.
  • UI Improvements
Enjoy a sleeker design, updated icons, and an overall more polished feel. We’ve ironed out the clutter to make the site as intuitive as possible.
  • Miscellaneous Fixes
A total of 14 bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements behind the scenes—little things that add up to a much better experience.

  • What’s Next?

    We’re also working on:

    • WarcraftLogs Integration
This will make it easier to import real-world raid data and glean insights for your own progression.

    • Collaborative Editing
We’re aiming for real-time note editing and auto-saving so you can coordinate with your raid team instantly.

    • Grid-Based View
We’re taking a fresh stab at bringing back the old spreadsheet vibe—only shinier, snappier, and far more flexible.

    Contributor Shout-Outs

We’d like to shine a spotlight on the amazing folks who made this release possible:

    • Arlie: Perhaps you know her from CraftSim? She’s an all-rounder who tackled some of the more complex under-the-hood issues that power these new features. Fun fact: She reduced our note size by a whopping 3000%, directly improving infrastructure performance on peak raid nights!

    • Chad: Our go-to wizard for refactoring the timelines, ensuring everything stays maintainable and expandable. He’s our oldest contributor and picks up slack whenever needed. Couldn’t do it without you, Chad!

    • Coderbug: Set up our ticketing system and took the first steps toward automated quality control and testing. Also brought in some awesome custom export options—perfect for any data nerds in the group.

    • Luviana: Our UI/UX superhero. He called us out on our “shoddy, incoherent design” (his words!) and then stepped up to fix it. Roster redesign, assignments page facelift, news page UI rework—you name it, he’s had a hand in it.

    • Ortemis: You might know him from Not-Even-Close, Threechest, or Jadefire Teachings. He swooped in pre-tier to squash issues and teach us best practices. Much of the smoothness you feel in cooldown and assignments pages is thanks to him.

    • Ryuzaki: For laying the groundwork on our new sidebar design and letting us see how a whole new layout can take shape.

    A Word of Thanks

To our users: we can’t thank you enough for your support, feedback, and patience. Everything we do here is about making World of Warcraft raid planning more enjoyable. Our mission is to let you focus on playing the game, without fussing over clunky tools.

A huge shout-out to our Patreons. Because of your generosity, we can explore bigger features (some of which cost real money to build) without locking anything behind a paywall. While we might offer perks to supporters, core functionality will always remain free for everyone.

We hope that by the time 12.0 rolls around, the raiding landscape might shift—at least a little—thanks to the tools we’re building.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of this journey. Keep that feedback coming—good, bad, or spicy. We’re listening, and we’re so excited for what’s next!
